GTronix360° Team mcchip-dkr driver presentation Atsushi Ishizaki

The Japanese young racer talent Atsushi Ishizaki is the third driver of the Porsche Cayman 981. Atsushi competed in various cup classes in Japan over the past few years and is celebrating his Nordschleife premiere this year.

How did you get into motorsport?
I was inspired by the manga story "Initial D". This is a Japanese cult comic about illegal street racing. Even the famous Japanese racing driver "Keichi Tsuchiya" is a great role model. Prior to his professional racing career, he perfected his driving technique with a Toyota AE86 Sprinter Trueno on the Touge mountain passes.

Your biggest success in motorsport?
I am still at the beginning of my motorsport career. Formula cars are not my thing. I want to be a top touring car driver in Japan and I will try to revitalize the Japanese motorsport.

Your expectations and targets for the season 2018?
I am really grateful that Kohei from Sunrise Blvd. offers me a driver seat on the Cayman, In addition to my missions with the Porsche Cayman at the Nürburgring, I would like to test a TCR or GT3 car.

Why is the production car class so interesting?
In the last years, I have participated in different racing cups with production cars. These classes are very exciting, because minor details decide about the success.

How do you prepare for a race weekend?
I spend a lot of time on a racing simulator. It helps me a lot to to memorize different race tracks.

What do you do when you sit not in the race car?
I work for a web-based automobile / IT affiliated company.
