VLN2 - Defective wheel carrier prevents finish

Last Saturday, the GTronix 360 ° Team mcchip-dkr started in the 43rd DMV 4-Hour Race at the Nürburgring with the Porsche Cayman 981 in class V5. Already the Friday training was used to further improve the setup of the KW chassis. In qualifying Heiko Hammel benefited from the new setup and put the Cayman with a lap time of 9:24 minutes on grid position 2 in the production car class V5. Starting driver Georg Griesemann handed over the Cayman to Heiko Hammel after his stint in position 2, who had to end the race prematurely in his Outlap. After almost exactly one hour of racing a defect in the rear right wheel carrier caused a complete brakedown of the vehicle, in the section „Brünnchen“. Hammel could prevent worse and drove the Cayman on three wheels into the next rescue bag. After almost exactly one hour of racing a defect in the rear right wheel carrier caused a complete brakedown of the vehicle, in the section „Brünnchen“ A setback for the whole team, which showed a great performance that unfortunately was not rewarded with a deserved conclusion of the race. No cause for concern: fortunately, the Cayman will be able to start scheduled for the 24h qualifying race next weekend.
